Sample Deck ~ Set.2 Winny Deck ~

Summary: In this blog entry, I have translated EOJ Connection’s article, which talked about the sample Set.2 Winny deck.

Remember Sample Deck ~Champion’s Deck~? Winny decks, also called Speed decks, were undeniably the best type of decks during the Set.1 era. The key theme of Winny deck is to CHECK your opponent as soon as possible, and continuously.

The harder the checks to break, the better the winny deck is.  This Set.2 Winny deck focuses on the high health point relative to its summoning cost i.e. if the summoning cost is 1 then HP of 2 or summoning cost 2 then HP of 3.

Not sure why there’s a Summoner Mesmer’s Lapse in this deck. Since the focus is on creatures with the most health for the lowest casting cost, is it really worth it? Lapsing a player for 1 or 2 mana rarely makes much of a difference.

Yah the Lapse dosent seem to fit I would think a Fissures would be a better choice 😉

yeah, a fissures or a clare wil’s banner. Both cards allow small creatures to kill high HP enemies. The Allujah Spellshield is a pretty good card though.

    Agree with both of you.

Though I see some usefulness of Lapse in this type of deck. Despite their relatively high HP, these creatures are still suceptible to get 1 hit kill especially with mana expensive creatures. So having lapse to cut down opponent’s mana from 3 or 4 mana to 2 makes harder for the opponent to break the check.

why lapse when your highest card is a 3 mana cost creature which you need despirately in decks like this?
