Elven Berserker Mage

Summary: Those people who liked Berserker maiden, this card may be for you… (or not..)

Race – Elf
Affiliation – Black Forest

Magic Attack
– While Elven Berserker Mage has exactly 1 HP, she adds 1 to her Attack and gains a Dodge attempt.

(A) Any 1 (C) None (B) S

Comment: Not sure if this would be as good as Elven Berserker Maden because unlike elven Berserker maden, she has only 2 baseline health, which means the most popular way of using Elven Berserker i.e. placing it on Earth field and use it as 3 attack power with 2 summoning mana will not apply for her.

I’m quite looking forward to this card… it’ll probably replace the Alhujian Priestess as my ‘cheap magic attack’ card…

Big difference with this one is the MAGIC attack… which makes it nice…

Actually, this might be my chance to have a question answered that I’ve had since the game was released…

What is it that the Elven Beserkers say during one of their attack or summon sequences that sounds very much like “This will peat burn” ???

Thing is, there’s a celebrity called Pete Burns and every time they say it I think of him! And thinking of a rubber-lipped singer whilst trying to concentrate isn’t very good for my game score 🙂

  4. i think its very good for a mage, 2 life, 1 activation cost, just 1 blind spot!!! and at 1life +1attack and dodge, thats awesome, far better than alujah priestess or flame mage.

I guess it makes more sense like all of you are saying to compare this creature with other magic attack creatures. And yes. comparing to alhuja priestess or flame magus, she doesn’t look too bad.

people will make sure to let her not have 1 hp. this card won’t work in many decks i think.

It’s not just her attack bonus. She costs the same to summon and to activate as a Priestess, yet she has more health, less blind spots and the opportunity to increase her attack and get a dodge when low on health.

For my mana, that beats the Priestess, who’s only redeeming factor is a field-based dodge.

The more I think about it, the more chance that this card is going to nearly always replace the Priestess is my decks…

Totally agree with Houshasen’s assessment. And because it’s a magic attack, you can’t even place it somewhere with the hope of inducing a counterattack of 1 to get the bonus.

Well, it would be nice if you could put her on a earth field like the good old beserker we love, and get the attack bonus right away. But has other have said, nobody will let her get down to one hp. So it will fit nicely in many decks, will be great in an elf deck, but not sure it it will totally replace the Aluhja Princess. I guess they will likely be a simple split 50-50.

Is it me or is paydak down on every card?!?! This really is a useful card, only one blind side – 4 health with field bonus, 1 cost and with the possibility of 2 magic for 1 cost, I think it’s a real threat

oh and couple this with lusirion and you have a really good attacker that can chip away at enemies…

I’m just trying to give what I think is a fair assessment of the cards. If you were to go back and do a card by card review of Set 1, you’d find that the vast majority of those cards are useless as well. It’s just the nature of this type of game. A lot of the cards are going to be unplayable in at least semi competitive play.

“I’m just trying to give what I think is a fair assessment of the cards.”

I can’t see anything ‘fair’ about being negative about EVERY card, that’s not fair, it’s pessimistic and damaging not just to the game but to players. And you’re making premature negative judgments without often thinking them through…

“Set 1… the vast majority of those cards are useless as well”

    LOL – oh dear, someone’s on a downer…

I particularly love the way you’ve tried to have the last word on all the card comments and they’re ALL negative. It does make me chuckle..
Well, meet me, the king of positivity, possibility, imagination, and a smattering of skill, let’s see how you rate the next few cards coming up…
