Moggy Howdah

Summary: Another card with orientation strategy.

Comment: Clearly most of us will summon this creature using Eggs.  Check with this creature?  Perhaps would be hard to break.  Don’t forget Aluhja Seduction can be used on your own creatures.

what about this: got 3 creatures on the field, one of them is green cubic, all faceing the same direction. than offer cubic for one of these and lay down anther one. nearly unbeatable check.

    @ Andry

I like your style… 2 cubic attack… ooooh, we’re going to get some interesting games coming!!!

    @ Moggy Howdah

And the best named card award goes to….
This has got to be my favourite named card in all of the sets…
They guys and girls that thought of this must have been on something REALLY STRONG…
I love the look and the abilities of this card…
One of these and a siam sentinel facing the same way… How are you going to beat that??!?!
Apart from havign a beguiling fog in your hand?
    Or tree fox…
Okay, so there’s some ways.. but together…
    Too powerful?
    Cats could take over…
    Everybody start singing ‘Memories…’

    @ Fongy
This agreeing with you is starting to get annoying – stop being so easy to agree with! 😉

It’s easily my favourite named card too. The screen capture of this card in action looks funky as well.

    @ Anyone
Do we know if the store will be updating tomorrow with the Set 3 pack? I tried the version check for the game before leaving for work this morning and it said I had the latest version – but Japan haven’t gone live yet until tomorrow, I don’t think?

  4. @Matthew: the update is starting at 3:00 am (GMT) tomorrow (for the game) and the store will update later that day i guess.

    @ Schobbo
Thanks for that! I’ll get it kick started before work then because it took forever and a day to do Set 2 – painfully slow.

    @ Fongy
And speaking of cats ruling the world – don’t forget that no creature is invisible when General Lug’s out for a prowl.

  6. I can not wait to try a deck with new cards 🙂

I can’t wait to start collecting trophies on this game, easily my favourite!

    @ Matthew

    I’m a totally agreeable person, unless you’re you-know-who (who I noticed hasn’t been making any comments for a while…)
The happy people win! Three cheers!

And the other card that prevents invisibility next to them that eludes me at the moment…
I love the fact invisibility is making a comeback!
    Aegis citadel here we come!

Best in a deck of cheap card where orientation does not matter like stone wing dwarf, hell fire spitter, flame magus, alujah priestess, etc. Would be fun to cubic/mimic this creature into play and then summon a monk elder or canine next to facing the same orientation so moggy gets dodge or protection.

    @ drizzle

God, you’ve just made me think now how effective verzar canine’s and monk’s can now be… phew!
These kinds of cards (with siam’s sentry too) can really make a difference..
    Well done Sony!
At first I thought this and siam might be game breakers, because together they are really powerful…
But a) 10 mana is a lot and b) there’s plenty of card turning spells and creatures that can sort it out
Even the lowly freedonian wanderer and tentacles may get a new lease of life!
Not to mention of these things with a decoy deck….

Question: Moggy on board, with only one card facing in the same orientation. This card has decoy. Now, will the opponent have to attack an invisible creature with decoy, or will the opponent be able to attack any creatures on board, since he won’t see the decoy. I’m guessing the second choice.

  12. @realgambler: thats a very good question, i will try that as soon as i have the cards and see what happens

  13. Posted by Matthew on October 15, 2008 at 2:53 pm

    @ RealGambler
An invisible creature can’t be attacked under any circumstances. If the invisible creature had decoy then if the rules play out as they should, no creature would be attacked in the example you gave above.

That’d be my understanding at least.

I tried the insibility-decoy combo and it does work. Will be hard to pull but still scary.

I really like this card more and more… Nightflyer and Drizzle have great ideas. For sure, I will do my best to obliterate any green cubics or mimics just because I don’t want this card played against me for cheap.
