End of Biolith Rebelion

Summary: As most of you have already read this on one of other EOJ Official Community Site, but EOJ Creator Yusuke Watanabe has recently sent us an EMail.  Well actually SCEA Manager did.  But following is what Watanabe-san Said.

Hello, EOJ fans! This is Yusuke Watanabe, the senior game designer of THE EYE OF JUDGMENT™.

Thank you very much for being such great fans of our game.

Since THE EYE OF JUDGMENT™ was first released in October 2007 with an innovative playing style, it has received a lot of love and enthusiasm from users all over the world. Thanks to the continuous support from all EOJ fans, we were able to complete the “BIOLITH REBELLION™” series.

We have been working on THE EYE OF JUDGMENT™ for 6 years – 5 years of development and one year of operation and expansion, and it has been long, but looking back it was a journey of surprise and discovery. I also think that it was a very important experience for me and the team to bring us to a new level.
Integrating a digital game and an analog card game was a tough challenge for all of us, and I would like to apologize if we caused any confusion and frustration.

However, your encouragement and feedback, that teamwork with our fans, got us here, to create a new era for PLAYSTATION®3 and card games, and I can’t thank you enough for that support. We send you our deepest gratitude for that.

Making the best use of what we have learned through EOJ, we are determined to create more attractive titles in the near future, so please look forward to them!

We will continue to hold various events for THE EYE OF JUDGMENT™, and your participation is very much appreciated.

It is always our greatest pleasure to see you at those events, and we thank you once again for your continuous support.

Very best regards,

Yusuke Watanabe

Sure this may be just my “this can’t be true” subconscious mentality, but if you read the message carefully, couple statements caught my eyes.  One is that he stated we were able to complete the “BIOLITH REBELLION™” series.  I found this a rather interesting because he could have easily said complete the “Eye of Judgment” instead.  Hmmm…

Second point is that “Making the best use of what we have learned through EOJ, we are determined to create more attractive titles in the near future, so please look forward to them! ” Again here, he could have said creat more attractive titles in the future, but rather he decided to put “near”  Hmmm..

Putting both togethe, in the near future we will see New series of Eye of Judgment!!!

Now there is a little problem here though.  That is Watanabe-san has posted his own message on Official Japanese EOJ Website, which is pretty much word for word of the message above in English except he didn’t say “near future” in Japanese.  In any case, Set.3 is finally out.  The game play has really broadened with it.  I’m sure I have no problem puttting in 100+ more hours into this game.

“we were able to complete the “BIOLITH REBELLION™” series” doesn’t sound too good, I hope it only means that they will make a new theme for the next sets.

I think it’d be a shame if it didn’t continue for another 3 sets!!!!

    Any more news on this?

Sounds like he’s not doing the EOJ anymore. Sounds like they are moving unto a new game that uses the same technology. maybe we will see a new Yu Gi Oh, Bakugan, or some other new game. This doesn’t mean the end of EOJ. it sounds like no new sets and we get promo cards for awhile.
