Battle Master. Is he still a master?

Summary: Undoubtedly the strongest solo card introduced in the Set.2 and even with Set.3, this card was exceedingly strong as a single card.  So what will Sony do to this?

First of all, here is its current (original) stat.

Now with new update

Race – Mech
Affiliation – Biolith Castle

6/4/6/3

– Battle Master attacks the same target twice.  The target’s counterattack occurs after the second attack.
– When Battle Master is summoned, you may take a Scion, Biolith Lord from your library, reveal it to your opponent, and put it into your hand.  Then shuffle your library.
– Enemies within the 2 fields to the front, back, left and right of Battle Master add 1 to their Activation Cost and cannot Dodge.

(A)N1/N2/E1/E2/S1/S2/W1/W2 (C) N/E/S/W (B) S

Comment: The change does not seem huge?  Well, I think it’s huge enough that this card is now requires some strategy.  Previously, having all four direction attack/counter without blind spot made essentially you can place this card anywhere any way you want without worrying about Fog, blind attack etc.   As a opponent player, you almost had no choice but to attack Battle Master with magic attack because of its counter attack simply kills most of your creature.   But now with blind spot, you can use Venoan Assassin.   You can use Fog and even kill Battle master with single attack by Didi or Siam.

Just looking at this single card, I can see how Sony is trying to achieve a well balanced game with EOJ PSP.

Not a bad nerf, but in all honesty nerfing cards that most of us had already learned to live with is just wierd.

Houshasen, any idea about the continuity of the game, i mean is this it or does sony plan to release additional cards online or sell eojpsp 2 in the future.

This isn’t much of a change, Battle Master should still be a staple in most all of the decks he already was a staple in since having only one blind side will rarely matter, and increasing the AC of enemy creatures in its attack range by 1 is still a nice ability. The anti-dodge ability wasn’t changed at all which usually was the stronger of those two abilities from my experience anyway.
