【HEX】 Kickstarter Saving Part I ~King, $250, and Grand King Tiers~

Though the pace of the kickstarter funding had slowed down significantly, HEX is still on target for its last $1.5 M stretch goal.  There had been quite few negative comment about boosting on some of $250 tiers but not affecting Pro or Grand King Tiers and up.  Are these really an issue?  Is Cryptozoic being stingy?  Let’s take a look at these controversial tiers and do a quick cost analysis and see how much we are really saving.

UPDATE: Forgot to include $180 worth of 90 extra Set.1 booster packs in the Grand King Tier.

Below are the table of how much we are saving at the minimum.  Couple assumptions are made here.

1. Prime Pack Tier to cost $30.  This is because all 15 cards are rare/legend so it is minimum worth the 15 booster packs.

2. Given the high likelihood of game making to 1.5M goal, the bonus from 1.5M are also added here.

3. For Pro Tier and Grand King Tier that got life time draft, the price would go up higher as years go by but I chose randomly 2 years here.  But subsequent years you just keep getting guaranteed $364 every year.

There are also unknown factors such as how much the value of PvE cards are, alternate art collector cards etc.  But clearly these will not decrease the total  value rather increase if anything.  It is just not known by how much.

We are basically getting easily over 3x value on any of these Tiers and that’s just by minimum with exception of Grand King on this minimum calculation but even Grand King should have more than 3x value due to so many unknown value factors that could not be incorporated in these calculations.

So if you have not backed up HEX yet, and felt like you missed the chance, you have not.  You should regret when you did not participate on this Kickstarter.

We also have no idea how the pVe rewards will factor in, GK most likely has even greater benefit in terms of cards, if cards / equipment /etc are dropped in dungeons, and GK’s get 100% loot.

No doubt. I think Collector’s alternate art card can be really valuable too if no other way to obtain these card in the future.

Oh by the way, it’s not 100% loot. I read somewhere its actually 100% plus i.e. if normal drop rate is 20% then becomes 40%.

Ah… that makes sense. I thought it was 2x loot, but I can see it being just a doubled multiplier.

That is not true. It is 100% loot — as in, if a dungeon boss drops drops 1 card and 500 gold, you get 2 cards (not 2 copies of the same card, you get 2 random cards — may be the same one, most likely not) and 1000 gold.

        Please do not spread misinformation.

You are correct. The most recent update by official word from Cory Jones is that you basically get to draw twice. I.e. Normally by defeating a dungeon boss you get 1 reward by random e.g. card with some rarity and/or gold with X amount. When you have this, you actually will receive two draws i.e. as if you defeated the boss twice. As far as 500 gold becoming 1000, I am not so sure unless 500 gold is considered as a fixed loot.

Thanks for posting comment I forgot to update this.

Looks like you forgot the 90 booster packs ($180) GK gets from also being the Guild Master.

Collector gets 12 cards per year (the alternative art pvp x2) and so does GK. Not sure how that factors in terms of $ though.

You are absolutely right. I forgot that part, which is pretty big. I’ll fix it tomorrow. Thanks for catching it. Someone is definitely checking my work.

Collector thing is I think really unknown factor, I actually see each of them could be really valuable.

Thanks for doing this! Makes it a slightly easier pill to swallow seeing the tiers broken down like this.

Nitpick – The Grand King also gets the 90 boosters that you noted in the Guild Leader tier (increase of $180).
