Now as with Part I, remember this is minimal saving analysis.  The exclusive cards you get may well worth a lot (particularly after HEX community grows) but at this point I cannot speculate the values.  Furthermore, many have raised possibility of $2/pack which is retail cost is indeed overestimate because of the abundance and the existence of the VIP subscription option.  My take on this is really depend on at what point of time you are looking at.

Yes. when initially HEX starts its beta in September everyone has lots of packs so nobody is going to pay $2/pack.  But after the official launch unless Cryptozoic gives some volume discount or sales event, new players have to either pay $2 to buy a pack or buy from other players who may elect to give away for discounted price initially but as the initial pack abundance from Kickstarter deprives, the price will quickly rise towards the $2 retail cost.

As far as VIP program, it is true you are getting $1 a pack with it but you cannot stack the VIP program i.e. 1 account cannot have more than 1 VIP per month.  So those who needs more than 1 pack/week still have to find a way to purchase.  There may be someone out there create many accounts and decides to sell packs for discounted price but normal player get only 4 packs a month and even if you sell it for $1.50, you only making $2 a month.  So I don’t think its worth an effort.

Because of these reasoning, I have decided to keep $2 retail pack cost for this analysis.

What does this show?  Just like before how generous the Cryptozoic is.  All tiers are getting ~3x or more values for what you pay.  Big jump between Knight and Champion for $20.  My suggestion is don’t miss out this opportunity if you haven’t pledged yet.  The worst comes the worst, just buy what you can afford and don’t even touch and sell everything once the game launches.  You will make money for sure with pretty good profit margin.

your champion tier is a little messed 😉

    85 booster packs = 170$
    3 free booster drafts = 21$
