This may be a good news to some as I have heard several occasions how they like a style of draft that’s done by Hearth stone.
Q. Infinite free tournament pass or 1 year free tournament access. Do they allow you to play unlimited number of drafts/tournaments i.e. required packs included like that of HEX?
NOT AT ALL. IN FACT, WE DON’T LIKE HEX SYSTEM IN THIS CASE AT ALL. HEARTHSTONE SEEMS A BETTER REFERENCE (ARENA MODE). WE THINK IS SO GOOD EXAMPLE THAT OUR DRAFT WILL BE IN FACT A VERSION OF THAT KIND OF TOURNAMENT. IT COULD VARY A LITTLE BIT, AS IT’S STILL AN ASPECT TO DEVELOP, BUT IT’LL BE SIMILAR FOR SURE. LESS COST FOR PLAYER, MORE FUN.
IT’S NOT A QUESTION OF ONLY MONEY, WE LOVE GAMES AND WE WANT ANYBODY WITHOUT THE CHANCE TO SPEND (e.g.) 10€ A WEEK TO BE ABLE TO PLAY AND ENJOY TOO. IN FACT, DOUBLE COIN SYSTEM WILL HERE (LIKE IN HEARTHSTONE) ALLOW PLAYERS TO ENTER DRAFTS WITHOUT REAL MONEY IF THEY WANT. HOWEVER, WE’RE CONSCIOUS WE NEED MONEY TO CONTINUE AND GROW SO, APPART FROM PRODUCT AND TICKET SALES, WE’VE THOUGHT ABOUT ALTERNATE SKINS FOR HEROES AND OTHER WAYS TO SELL EXCLUSIVE CONTENT FOR ANYBODY WHO IS PLEASED TO BUY IT.
For those of you who are not familiar, basically arena mode in hearthstone takes entry fee roughly $2 and no packs. Then computer randomly gives you selection of cards to choose from I.e. doing sealed draft essentially but these cards are not yours to keep so you can really focus on building deck to win.
You can play games until you either lose 3 games or win 12 games with the deck. Depending on number of wins, you get different rewards.
Q. How much will tournament/draft cost?
WE ESTIPULATED 1.59€ A DRAFT ENTRANCE FOR IT TO BE A GOOD CHANCE FOR PLAYERS TO PLAY AND EARN BOOSTERS, BUT WE MUST SAY THE COST HASN’T BEEN DEFINETELY FIXED YET.
It sounds like WoT is also thinking same price range as hearthstone. So it’s pretty cheap entry to get to play draft.
Furthermore, developer here is even considering option to allow draft with in game currency I.e. Those you can play for free especially if you can continue to win.
Heathstone never got my interest as it is too simplistic game mechanics for my taste so never played arena in the game but I think it’s a really good design and I believe WoT chose a right model here. In fact I was surprised that they decided to use this model as the level of game depth seems to be in the class of magic or hex rather than casual dTCG like hearthstone.
